What is Moolank & Bhagyank?

Moolank (Basic Number) is the digital root of your day of birth and is also the number your Mahadasha cycle begins with. Bhagyank (Destiny Number) is the digital root of your complete date of birth (day + month + year) and represents your overall life path.

Mahadasha — the background chapter

Starting from your Moolank on the day you were born, the Mahadasha cycles through 1→2→3→...→9, where each number rules for as many years as its own value (Mahadasha 1 = 1 year, Mahadasha 9 = 9 years), completing a full cycle every 45 years.

Antardasha — the active theme

Every birthday-year has its own Antardasha number, calculated by adding your Birth Number (day of birth), Month Number (birth month), that year's Desired Year Number, and that year's birthday weekday number, then reducing to a single digit. Since the year and weekday both shift every year, your Antardasha can change from one birthday to the next even while your Mahadasha stays the same.

Pratyantar Dasha — the immediate trigger

Within each Antardasha year, the Pratyantar Dasha subdivides the year into 9 proportional periods, starting the cycle at your current Antardasha number and running through 1-9 again, each period sized by its share of 45.
