Rahu Ketu Transit December 2026: Capricorn-Cancer Effects & Prep

The shadow planets are about to change direction. In the Rahu Ketu transit of December 2026, Rahu leaves Aquarius for Capricorn (Makar) and Ketu leaves Leo for Cancer (Kark) on 5 December 2026 (Vedic, Lahiri). Rahu and Ketu always move backwards and stay about 18 months in each sign, so this axis will shape ambitions and emotional lessons until roughly mid-2028. For many readers, it is the most important transit to prepare for this winter.

Because the shift happens early in December, November is your preparation month. In this preview I explain what Rahu in Capricorn and Ketu in Cancer mean, how the transit fits into December's crowded sky, how it affects each moon sign, and what you can do now.

Rahu in Capricorn: Ambition With Structure

Rahu is the planet of desire, obsession, foreign influence, technology and breaking boundaries. Capricorn is Saturn's earthy sign of work, discipline, institutions, government and long-term results. Rahu is said to behave somewhat like Saturn, so it tends to work in a fairly practical way here. Collectively, expect a hunger for status and career growth, large infrastructure and corporate ambitions, and rule-bending inside systems. Personally, Rahu in Capricorn rewards anyone willing to combine big dreams with hard, patient work. The trap is chasing position at any cost.

Ketu in Cancer: Letting Go of Emotional Clinging

Ketu is the planet of detachment, past-life skills, moksha and sudden separation. Cancer is the Moon's sign of mother, home, emotions, nourishment and security. Ketu here teaches us to find inner security rather than clinging to people, places or comfort. It can bring house changes, a renewed interest in meditation and ancestral roots, and emotional honesty within families. Look after your mental peace and your relationship with your mother during this period.

Jupiter joins Ketu in Cancer in 2027

Here is something many previews miss. Jupiter, now in Leo, turns retrograde on 13 December and slips back into Cancer on 25 January 2027. It stays there until about 26 June 2027. For those five months, Guru sits with Ketu in Cancer, the sign where Jupiter is exalted. This spiritual combination can turn Ketu's detachment into wisdom rather than loss, and it is especially protective for Cancer natives. A Crowded December Sky

• 2 December: Mercury enters Scorpio.
• 5 December: Rahu enters Capricorn and Ketu enters Cancer. Ketu leaves Leo, so Jupiter and Mars in Leo are no longer joined by Ketu.
• 11 December: Saturn turns direct (margi) in Pisces. See Sade Sati 2026 and Shani margi.
• 13 December: Jupiter turns retrograde in Leo.
• Mid-December: The Sun enters Sagittarius and Kharmas begins.

With so many shifts in two weeks, avoid making several life-changing decisions in early December. Let the dust settle.

Rahu Ketu Transit December 2026: Effects on 12 Moon Signs

Rahu and Ketu give their best gochar results in the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses from the Moon. Here is the preview, with the house Rahu and the house Ketu occupy from your rashi.

Mesh (Aries): Rahu 10th, Ketu 4th

You will feel a strong career ambition, with chances of new roles or work related to foreign or tech companies. At home, you may feel detached or face a change of residence. Balance your office hours with time for your family, especially during Sade Sati's first phase.

Vrishabh (Taurus): Rahu 9th, Ketu 3rd

Unconventional beliefs, foreign study or long travel attract you. Ketu in the 3rd gives fearless courage, which is a favourable placement. Avoid arguments with your father or teachers over ideology.

Mithun (Gemini): Rahu 8th, Ketu 2nd

This placement calls for caution. Sudden changes, research and joint finances are the themes. Keep your savings disciplined and your speech measured. It is excellent for occult study, insurance or investigative work.

Kark (Cancer): Rahu 7th, Ketu 1st

Ketu over your Moon may make you question your identity, while Rahu in the 7th brings an intense focus on partnerships or spouse. The good news is that Jupiter joins Ketu in your sign from late January 2027 and offers real protection and wisdom.

Simha (Leo): Rahu 6th, Ketu 12th

This is welcome relief. Ketu leaves your sign, and Rahu in the 6th helps you beat competition and clear debts. Ketu in the 12th favours spirituality, though you should keep an eye on expenses. It eases the dhaiya burden somewhat.

Kanya (Virgo): Rahu 5th, Ketu 11th

Rahu in the 5th can bring creative obsession, unusual romances or confusion in studies, so avoid speculative trading. Ketu in the 11th brings gains when you stop chasing them. That is a favourable Ketu placement.

Tula (Libra): Rahu 4th, Ketu 10th

Property, vehicles and home life become the focus, and there may be restlessness at home. Ketu in the 10th can make you feel detached from your current job or interested in a change of career. Plan any change carefully rather than quitting impulsively.

Vrishchik (Scorpio): Rahu 3rd, Ketu 9th

This is one of the best placements. Bold moves, media, digital work, sales and short travel all succeed. Ketu in the 9th may make you question rituals or gurus and look for your own spiritual path.

Dhanu (Sagittarius): Rahu 2nd, Ketu 8th

Money, family and speech are the themes. Rahu can bring sudden income but also unusual expenses. Avoid harsh words in family matters. Ketu in the 8th deepens your intuition. Combined with dhaiya, this is a period to stay patient.

Makar (Capricorn): Rahu 1st, Ketu 7th

Rahu over your Moon raises ambition, restlessness and image-consciousness. You may chase recognition hard. Ketu in the 7th can make your partner seem distant. Ground yourself with routine and keep your marriage a priority.

Kumbh (Aquarius): Rahu 12th, Ketu 6th

Rahu finally leaves your sign. Expect foreign connections, spending on travel or wellness, and the need for better sleep habits. Ketu in the 6th is favourable for defeating opponents and recovering from health issues. It is a helpful change during the last phase of Sade Sati.

Meen (Pisces): Rahu 11th, Ketu 5th

Rahu in the 11th is excellent for gains, a large network and fulfilled ambitions, which is great support at the peak of Sade Sati. Ketu in the 5th may cause detachment in romance or worries about children's studies. Be present for them.

How to Prepare in November

1. Close the Aquarius-Leo chapter. For the past 18 months or so, Rahu in Aquarius has pushed networks, technology and social causes, while Ketu in Leo has humbled ego and creative pride. Finish pending online projects and let go of grudges about recognition.
2. Know your dasha. If you are running a Rahu or Ketu Mahadasha or Antardasha, this transit will be felt more. Check with the Vimshottari dasha calculator.
3. Set one disciplined goal for the Rahu-in-Capricorn period, whether in career, fitness or finances, and decide how you will measure it.
4. Strengthen home and mind before Ketu enters Cancer. Spend time with your mother and start a short daily meditation.

Simple Rahu-Ketu Remedies

• Ketu: Worship Lord Ganesha, chant "Om Kem Ketave Namah", and feed street dogs.
• Avoid expensive, fear-based "Rahu-Ketu dosh" pujas sold as urgent fixes. Sincere, simple remedies work.
